Spring Tea Class

Spring Tea Class
For those who have waited long, I am happy to announce that our tea classes are back! From now on, we will introduce different teas and many fun programs. Anyone can join this class regardless of your knowledge on tea. To give you some ideas, I'd like to share some of the highlights in May Spring Tea Class. Thanks to many requests and interests, we decided to have a few more classes in early June! (details at the end). We will have one Saturday class for those who can't join on the weekdays.

I served the welcome tea (Premium Woojeon Green Tea, Hadong, South Korea) before Tea 101 lecture.

Magnolia Tea, Hadong, South Korea 2023 (on the left)
After the lecture, we tasted two different teas: White tea and Magnolia Tea.
After we taste three different types of tea, we pair them with seasonal tea foods that I prepared. For Spring Tea Class, I prepared flower rice cake, black bean mascarpone cheese, and chrysanthemum salad.
Flower Rice Cake with Marigold Syrup with Lilac
My grandmother used to make Flower Rice Cake (Hwa Jeon) with azalea flowers (Jin Dal Lae) from her garden every spring. I dipped it in the honey. I remember it tasted like heaven. Reminiscing my old memories, I  made Hwa Jeon with edible flowers from union square green market.
I placed those Hwa Jeon on the Yoo Wan Yang's (Mowani Glass) frost glass plate.
For the dessert, I made this creamy Basque cheese cake to be paired with artemisia matcha, Hadong, South Korea.
This mild bitterness of artemisia matcha is well balanced with rich and creamy cheese cake.
Everyone got to make her (his) matcha bowl after I demonstrate how to make it.

With the artist Yoo Wan Wang (Mowani Glass), we have collaborated to make glass matcha bowls for Leef NYC. You get to choose your own bowl.
You will be able to see all these beautiful handcrafted teawares that we collaborated with many Korean artists.

For classes in June, we will have the same program. We may change some tea foods depending on the availability.

Please be mindful that this is NOT A COOKING CLASS. Since many have requested, I will still share the recipes after.
Classes can be conducted in either Korean or English depending on the participants.

안녕하세요. I’d like to enroll in a tea class for myself. Could you kindly guide me through the registration process?
