Through her work, Kim Byeol Hee hopes to bridge the gap between modern individuals and traditional Korean culture, making it more accessible and relevant in contemporary life.

The artist's primary theme is the soban (a traditional Korean small table), and she creates tea utensils inspired by this concept. Most traditional sobans available today date back to the Joseon Dynasty, mostly made of wood. To address the inherent vulnerabilities of wood, such as its susceptibility to water and heat, Byeol Hee reimagines sobans in ceramic form. This transformation not only overcomes the material limitations but also offers new and diverse ways to use these objects.
